South Rutland Elementary School is located a few blocks past the intersection of Hwy 33 and Rutland Road near "uptown" Rutland. A team of dedicated staff members support the learning of approximately 200 students in 10 classes.The school was officially opened by the Honourable W.A.C. Bennett (then Premier of British Columbia) on June 16, 1967. In 2007, just before our school's 40th birthday, the school unveiled a new logo (above) and became the home of the "Rockets".
Our school motto... "Engaging Minds... Launching Dreams".
